In order to claim unemployment benefit you need to:
Be actively seeking employment from the first day of being unemployed
Have been a member of an unemployment insurance fund for at least one year
Have been an employee for at least 1924 hours within the past three years, if you are full-time insured
Have been an employee for at least 1258 hours within the past three years, if you are part-time insured
Have been self-employed in a corresponding period of time
Confirm that you are actively seeking employment every week on Jobnet and be ready to take on any job within reason.
You have the right to claim unemployment benefit for 2 years in a 3 year period. It is your unemployment insurance fund who makes the payments.
Are you a graduate?
If you are a graduate, you have the right to claim unemployment benefit one month after you have graduated. The education will have to have duration of at least 18 months.
You have to apply for admittance in an unemployment insurance fund no later than two weeks after your have finished your education in order to claim unemployment benefit.
