Newly arrived pupils between 13 – 18 years (from grade 7) will be taught 25 lessons a week in Danish, maths, English and sports. The courses take place at a youth school and pupils are admitted on a regular basis. Some pupils will sit the final examination at the youth school while others will follow courses at other youth schools. This depends on their prerequisites and their time of arrival in Denmark.
The courses are organized according to the need of the individual. The purpose is to strengthen the communicative skills of the pupils and to introduce them to Danish society and the Danish educational system and to prepare them for education.
The lessons for pupils who are leaving primary school take place on weekdays from 8.30 – 14.00 am at Ungdomsskolen (the youth school).
Network for pupils who leaving primary schools
The network class is a special course for pupils who are leaving primary school (grade 7-9 ). The courses are organized according to the need of each individual pupil. The purpose is to strengthen the communicative skills of the pupils and improve language proficiency.
Besides attending the network class, the pupils will receive 2 hours of individual training a week on the district school. The pupil will terminate the network class at the final examination or when it is estimated that the pupil no longer requires lessons in Danish as a foreign language.
The lessons in the network class take place every Monday from 15.00 – 17.30 am at Ungdomsskolen (the youth school).
