Passport for children

From June 26th 2012, children must have their own passport when travelling in and out of Denmark.

When a child needs a new passport, he/she should contact Kommuneservice and can do this either alone or with a parent.

Both parents need to sign the application form if joint custody is held over the child, but both parents do not need to turn up in person at Kommuneservice. If a passport has not been issued to the child earlier, birth- or name certificate must be submitted.

You can read more about the requirements of the photo here (Danish).

When you turn up in person at Kommuneservice to order your passport, you can either pay cash or with Dankort.

Please note that time of delivery of passports is approx. 14 days.

Opening hours

Kommuneservice is open Monday to Wednesday from 8 am - 4 pm, Thursday from 8 am - 6 pm and Friday from 8 am - 2 pm.
